Lunga Memela is Communication Strategist, Cultural Storyteller, and Creative Leader with over 17 years of experience shaping narratives, strengthening institutional visibility, and driving strategic communication initiatives across South Africa’s Higher Education, Creative Arts, Mining, and NGO sectors. Experienced in partnering with executive and management teams to develop integrated communication solutions that build reputation, foster stakeholder trust, and support organisational transformation. His professional journey spans junior, middle-management and leadership roles, enriched by international academic experience in the Netherlands, where he obtained a Master’s degree focused on creative autonomy and audience engagement. This global perspective continues to influence his approach to strategic communication, innovation, and meaningful public engagement. Passionate about creating conversations that connect people, ideas and communities, Lunga has led stakeholder engagement initiatives, integrated campaigns, strategic events, student recruitment efforts, and multi-platform content strategies across both internal and external communication environments. His expertise spans public relations, reputation management, journalism, brand positioning, digital communication, and the creation of compelling content designed to inspire action and deliver impact. Beyond institutional communication, Lunga is the Founder and Creative Director of Creative Concepts Agency, 𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 and Founder of 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝘇𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶™, platforms that reflect his commitment to storytelling, cultural dialogue, thought leadership, and creating spaces where important conversations can thrive. He holds a Code B driver’s licence and is open to travel opportunities. Lunga is PhD candidate in health communication at his inaugural 𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳, the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Lunga cut his teeth at the University of KwaZulu-Natal where he majored in Culture, Communication and Media Studies as well as Drama and Performance Studies. His Honours Degree in Media and Cultural Studies was conferred just before he launched his career and later advanced to a Masters Degree in Art, Literature and Society at Maastricht University in the Netherlands, positioning him as a public relations practitioner and young content strategist of note.
